Project Overview

Luvdrive is an experimental browser-based exploration game built entirely with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Rather than focusing on traditional objectives or combat, the experience encourages players to slow down and investigate the spaces around them, uncovering meaningful objects hidden throughout a lived-in home.

Every collectible represents a small piece of someone's life. Ordinary household items become reminders of relationships, experiences, and memories that evolve over time. Through exploration and observation, players gradually assemble a personal narrative, reflecting on how familiar objects can gain entirely new emotional significance as our lives change.

The entire game takes place inside a single house designed as an explorable memory space. Each room contains everyday objects arranged to feel natural and lived in, encouraging players to carefully observe their surroundings rather than rush toward a destination.

Environmental storytelling plays a central role in the experience. Furniture, photographs, decorations, toys, books, and personal belongings quietly communicate pieces of a life without relying on lengthy dialogue or exposition. As players move through the home, the environment itself becomes the primary storyteller.

Collecting objects forms the core gameplay loop. Rather than functioning as traditional rewards, each item serves as a memory artifact — something that once held everyday usefulness but now carries emotional weight because of the experiences attached to it.

The collection system encourages players to reconsider the significance of ordinary possessions. By discovering and cataloging objects throughout the house, players gradually piece together an intimate narrative while reflecting on how our relationship with familiar belongings changes over time.

Luvdrive challenged me to explore how interactive experiences can communicate emotion without relying on complex mechanics. By focusing on environmental storytelling, meaningful collectibles, and quiet exploration, I developed a project that invites players to reflect on memory and the changing significance of everyday objects.

Building the game entirely with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript strengthened my understanding of frontend development while demonstrating how browser technologies can be used to create immersive interactive experiences. The project reinforced my interest in designing digital spaces that encourage curiosity, contemplation, and emotional connection through thoughtful interaction design.
